Some pups are just made for snowy weather, especially those that have a thick double coat. Golden Retrievers are among them, and they wait all year for that first snowfall to arrive. Their paw parents know all too well the struggle to get them to come back inside during the winter months.
Parker, an 8-year-old Golden Retriever who lives in Cleveland, is clearly accustomed to freezing temperatures. As seen in a recent Instagram post, he prefers being out in the cold—no matter just how chilly it gets!
The snow-loving pup is lounging on the back stoop as his mom opens the sliding glass door. Parker makes absolutely no movement except blinking his eyes! Mom says, “Parker, it’s 5 degrees outside,” and the pup’s facial expression says, “And?”
His mom continues, asking, “Do you want to come in anytime soon?” but hears only the sound of crickets in response! Then, in her last-ditch effort to get the Golden to move inside, she points out, “You can see your breath!”

Still nothing, so defeated and probably cold, Mom closes the door, and Parker returns to his regularly scheduled program!
Do Other Dogs Love the Snow This Much?
According to the comments section, the answer is a resounding yes! One commenter quipped, “My Golden loves the snow and being outside when it’s dark and cold. She will run like a crackhead if we try to get her to come in!”
Another viewer mentioned, “My grand-dog Maple stays outside while my granddaughters skate on their rink. She likes to chase the hockey pucks!”
Apparently, even elderly dogs love it, too. “My old man doggie loves to be outside in the cold—he gets playful and loses about 9 years, reliving his pup years!” replied a fellow paw parent.
Don’t worry about Parker, though! His mom shared a follow-up showing their warm, post-snow snuggle time, and he was happy as a clam. He knows what he likes—and clearly, that’s freezing cold temperatures!
