Dachshund Has a Secret Handshake With His Mom and It’s Adorable

Dachshunds are adorable pups any day, but add a secret handshake, and we fall in love no matter what. Many dogs know how to give their paw and even shake, but teaching your dog a special greeting that’s just between the two of you is next-level epic!

Wilbur, along with his brother Palmer, is already a TikTok star with over 100K followers. Still, the daily handshake with his mom has elevated him into a category of cute that’s in a league of its own. Mom begins the video by telling viewers, “Wilbur and I do this handshake every day, and you better say it’s cute!”

The little cream Dachshund sits beside her, eagerly awaiting the action. Side note: His long, curly hair is so fabulous it should have its own TikTok page. OK, back to the handshake… Mom leans toward Wilbur, extends her flat palm, and asks, “Best friends?” The sweet boy responds with a high-five.

She then leans in for a kiss and says, “Forever!” as Wilbur lifts his long nose to seal the deal. The video caption states, “He promises me ‘forever’ every day!” His mom then giggles before turning off the camera. The entire 7-second clip is a cuteness overload!

Funny Reactions From Wilbur’s Fans

A fellow Doxie mom, @britcurtis, hilariously wrote, “My Dachshund wakes me up by laying his full body dead weight directly on my face, basically suffocating me. So pretty much the same!”

Another Dachshund paw parent, @matthewnorman278169, said, “Looks like royalty with his front coat curls! 😂 I have 2 of them, and they are my world!” and TikToker @clariiiiiii777 admitted, “I love his crimped chest hair!”🔥

Honestly, I can hardly get my Goldendoodle to shake hands, let alone promise to be my best friend forever. Clearly, I have some catching up to do with Wilbur and his mom!
