Full disclosure: I’m not a cat parent. But my parents had cats my entire childhood, so I’m very familiar with them. And my sister has two cats. And they couldn’t be more different. One is social, loving, and will come out and see you, cuddle with you, and play. And the other is the most afraid animal in the world, and hardly comes out from underneath my sister’s bed.
It’s those extreme differences—even though both cats have been raised in the exact same environment—that drew me to a recently published TikTok from user @freyathesiberian. The 30-second clip is captioned, “Freya and Teddy are very different.” And it’s essentially a video that shows just how different two cats raised and living in the same environment can truly be. And it’s just so real—and at times, very funny.
We Love Them Both For Exactly Who They Are
The video starts by showing both cats sitting next to each other on a kitchen counter. The caption on the screen reads, “The differences between our two cats.” First, the video shows both cats getting brushed. “Freya: Hates being brushed, and gets extremely angry,” the caption reads, as the video shows Freya getting brushed, looking angry. “Teddy: Loves being brushed, will purr the entire time,” the caption reads next, showing Teddy lying down on the ground getting brushed and loving it.

Next up is our favorite, featuring the Roomba vacuum. “Freya: Terrified of vacuums, will run away from them,” the video’s caption says as Freya runs from the Roomba. “Teddy: Has no fear of vacuums, he enjoys riding them,” the caption reads next. And, yes, sure enough, there is a video clip of Teddy riding a Roomba vacuum around the house.
“Freya: Always plays gently,” the caption says next, showing Freya playing nicely with Teddy. “Teddy: Plays rough, doesn’t seem to know what gentle means,” the caption says, showing clips of Teddy absolutely mauling Freya. “Freya: Enjoys going on car rides,” the caption reads next, showing Freya looking out a car window as it goes down the road. “Teddy: Scared of car rides,” the caption reads next, showing Teddy being super scared of the car.
We love cute social media pet videos and are always on the lookout for the best ones to share with you. A couple of our recent favorites include this 8-week-old tuxedo kitten meeting his German shepherd brother, and this golden retriever swinging his human sibling.
