Farmer Tries to Teach Fluffy Baby Cow to Walk While Wearing a Halter, and We Can’t Stop Laughing

Haylee Whitehurst cracked the internet up when she shared a video of her baby Highland cow, Shiloh, during harness training recently, and it’s guaranteed to make you smile. To say Shiloh isn’t a fan of being led on a harness would be an understatement, and his attempts to make it stop are the cutest thing you’ll see today!

Watch as Haylee tries to encourage little Shiloh to follow her as she gently yanks on the lead. Shiloh seems to be a pretty stubborn little guy and resists in the cutest way possible. We could watch him do this all day!

In the caption, Haylee calls Shiloh a little turd, but he’s definitely the cutest one we’ve ever seen! And we can’t get over his little teefers; we had no idea cows’ teeth could be that adorable!

All About Baby Cows

Calves are born with 20 teeth, eight incisors, and 12 premolars. Just like human babies, they’ll lose their ‘baby’ teeth one at a time as their permanent teeth grow in. For the first two weeks after birth, calves drink their mother’s milk, but as they get older, they begin to eat grains, or a ‘calf starter’ food, though they’ll continue to drink milk as well.

A to Z Animals explains, “A cow is considered a calf from birth until it is weaned, which is typically between six and nine months old. After weaning, they may be called weaners or weaner calves, and yearlings once they are a year old.”

Baby cows are some of the most social animals around and love to make new friends. “They frequently interact with the cows around them by vocalizing and playing together. They can change the tone or intensity of their moo to convey different emotions.”

Cows in general experience a wide range of emotions, including happiness, affection, fear, and anxiety. We laughed when A to Z said that they’re even known to hold grudges!

We love watching all baby animals explore the world around them, but for some reason, baby cows will always top our favorites list!
