Move over, Mariah Carey! You’ve got some Christmas competition, and it is a Golden Retriever named Calvin.
Now that Halloween is officially over and November has begun, we need to start getting ready for Christmas.
It seems early, but holiday songs are already playing at some retailers, and decorations are already going up at airports.
And this Golden Retriever named Calvin is particularly excited about it!
In the video, he comes bursting into the kitchen with a Christmas wreath toy around his snout. It is just up far enough that you can see his eyes, but he also has his mouth around the wreath.
He is clearly very excited for the holiday season, as his tail is wagging the whole time.
Calvin comes back around the counter for one last viewing of his wreath at the end of the video.
When Is It Too Early To Decorate for Christmas?
This is a question that is often asked after Halloween, as it seems like every year the hype around the holidays gets bigger.
According to 65% of AOL editors, you should not decorate for Christmas until right after Thanksgiving or even the first week of December (and the second week is fine, too). At the end of the day, it is about personal preference!
But it should be noted that the Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park, doesn’t decorate until Thanksgiving Day. However, the famous Biltmore Hotel starts decorating on November 1, so it’s a tough call.
But as for your pets playing with Christmas toys, it is never too early for that!

Holiday spending is expected to top $1 trillion this year, according to MSN.
“The expectation for people to spend on holiday shopping is $890, with some $630 being earmarked for gifts and the rest for decor, food, and candy, and so on. But that is per person. That’s not even a household, that’s per person,” said Johanna Slot, Associate Clinical Professor of Marketing at Penn State.
Clearly, gifts and decor for pets will be part of that, as the 2024 State of the Industry report by the American Pet Products Association said the outlook for the pet industry’s continued growth means there may be $207 billion in pet spending by 2030.
That’s a lot of Christmas presents for pets!
