Cat Snitches on His Brother, and It’s Absolutely Legendary

Cats have a reputation for being aloof. But anyone who actually lives with a cat knows they’re far more observant than they pretend to be. They notice routines, tone shifts, their human’s emotional state, snack wrappers opening and apparently, sibling misconduct.

And one viral TikTok posted by Leslie of @livelikeleslie might just confirm that.

Cat “Snitches” on His Brother

In the clip, two black cats are seen play wrestling on the couch, as sibling cats frequently do. The on-screen caption reads, “Yall ever seen a cat snitch?”

Seconds later, Leslie calls out a firm but calm, “Heyyyy!” and the wrestling immediately stops. Both cats freeze like kids who just heard their full government names.

Then, Leslie notices something slightly off. “Benito, did he knock your bowtie off?” she asks. Sure enough, one cat’s bowtie is crooked.

What happens next is almost unbelievable. The cat with the crooked bowtie lifts his paw and points directly at his brother. Not like a vague gesture or an accidental stretch—a full, unmistakable point.

Leslie responds, “He did, huh?”

Viewers Are Flabbergasted

It didn’t take long for the internet to process what they had just seen and collectively lose it. The video has racked up 1.9 million likes and more than 2,700 comments, with viewers replaying the moment over and over to confirm that yes, that cat absolutely pointed.

“He POINTED & then stared him down 😂,” one viewer wrote in the video’s comment section.

“I was NOT expecting the cat to actually point..😳,” another added.

And one comment summed up what a lot of viewers were probably thinking: “it’s kinda scary how smart cats can be.”

Between the perfectly timed paw lift and the direct eye contact that followed, many viewers were convinced this wasn’t random. And frankly, it’s hard to argue with that analysis.

Are Cats Really That Smart?

Cats are highly observant animals who quickly learn cause-and-effect relationships, especially when it involves attention from their humans. Cats absolutely use their paws intentionally to communicate—pointing, tapping and reaching are all part of a cat’s communication toolkit.

So did Benito consciously think, I will now formally accuse my sibling? Probably not in the way a human would. Still, we may never know whether he picked up on his mom’s tone and intentionally “snitched,” or simply lifted his paw at the most dramatically perfect moment. Either way, the timing was nothing short of legendary.
