There are so many comfy dog beds available these days.
From Pendleton and Jonathan Adler for Ruggable to Lesure, dog beds are made of the softest and plushiest material, and yet sometimes a pup may be just as comfortable and cozy in a casserole dish (it helps if they fit in it, though).
We saw this in the sweetest video from the account @.gusvaughn, which features a Yellow Labrador puppy named Gus, who has decided to get all cozy in none other than a casserole dish.
His parents wrote in the caption that their kitchen is being renovated, so there are pots and pans scattered around, and this one looked particularly appealing to this pup for a nap.
In the video, the puppy looks so safe and secure in this dish that his dad can’t even pry him out of it.
The dog is so comfy, his dad has to take the dish off the shelf and put it in his lap.
The comments on the video were quite cute, as you would expect.
One wrote, “The recipe says you’re supposed to let the dough rest.”
Another said, “Fresh out of the oven: one sleepy, slightly toasted, little fluff-soufflé.”
My personal favorite: “Labsagna coming right up.”
If you want to see more videos of baby Gus discovering the world and all of its wonders, then this is the account for you!

Why Do Dogs Like To Sleep in Small Spaces?
You may be wondering why a dog would curl up in a casserole dish that he barely fits in.
The answer is instincts.
Though they may seem ridiculous compared to a comfy bed, small spaces provide dogs with a sense of security, as their caves did when they lived in the wild.
They may find a spot like this for safety, warmth, or just for a little bit of quiet time.
So think of Gus’s casserole dish as a cave.
