Labrador Refuses To Get Out of the Pool During a Torrential Downpour

While walking through the experience of raising both children and dogs, I can say with certainty that there are a lot of similarities between dogs and kids. One of the big ones is making sure transitions from one activity to another go smoothly. It’s almost impossible to get a dog or a human kid to stop doing something fun when it’s time to go home.

This seems to be especially true when it comes to pools or water activities, and the Labrador in the video below is the perfect example of that.

It doesn’t matter if it’s sunny or raining—if Buster wants to be in the pool, that’s where you’ll find him, according to this new TikTok video from @bustersworld4 on TikTok.

He’s in the middle of a torrential downpour, but that’s not stopping him from getting his pool time in, and neither is his mom yelling at him to get out of the pool.

I can’t blame him for this—who doesn’t love a pool day? Plus, he is already wet from being in the pool, so who cares about a little rain?

Labrador Retrievers Love Water

It’s no wonder that Buster has such an affinity for the pool, because it’s just one of those things that most dogs of his breed are big fans of.

According to the American Kennel Club, Labradors are known for their love of water—not just the pool, but any body of water they can get their little paws in. It helps that their bodies are made for swimming; not only do they have thick tails that act as little rudders for them, but they also have webbed feet, making swimming even easier. They also have waterproof coats, so they don’t mind getting wet the way some other breeds do, even in colder temperatures.

That also means it’s going to be hard to convince them it’s time to get out of the water and dry off… but let’s face it, that’s true of our pups and any activity they really love doing. It’s still worth it to get to see how much fun they have!
