Those first few weeks as a new parent can be so emotional. One day you have a baby and the next you’re introducing your infant to your cat. It’s the kind of emotional whiplash that can really get to a person. Just ask two new parents who completely broke down when it happened to them. They were sobbing! It was so cute.
Maybe it’s all the late nights spent changing diapers, but the two adults were absolute messes when they walked into their baby’s room and saw their cat snuggled for a snooze.
Ohhh those new parent emotions run high, don’t they? There’s no way to stop it or predict when the feelings will hit. That was the lesson that the two parents learned in the most hilarious way possible.

Mom Kate pulled out her camera when she realized that her cat had saddled up next to her newborn daughter. The kitty was being so good! She was quiet and kept a safe difference from the newborn so she wouldn’t wake her.
This positively broke the new mom, and her husband wasn’t exactly holding it together either. The two were both in tears. It was so incredibly sweet.
“The time my cat met my newborn and me and my husband couldn’t hold it together,” the video’s text overlay reads. “Not me and my husband BOTH SOBBING HAAHAHAH,” she added in the caption.
Commenters could relate. This was too funny! Many were just happy that the cat minded her manners around the newborn.
“You two crying in silence because you know the second you make a sound the cat will get offended and leave,” one person teased.
“She’s the only stable adult right now,” added another person.
“‘Why are y’all crying? I’m just chilling with my human,’” — the cat probably,” another person joked.
Can Cats and Babies Get Along?
It’s always a little scary to introduce your pets to your kids. But there is a chance it could go well! Use your pregnancy to prepare your cat for your baby’s arrival and you’ll give your cat a good chance of accepting the little one’s arrival.
This can mean moving your cat’s litter box away from the room where your baby will be or slowly changing their routine to get ready. Many cats can adjust to a new addition easily. So have no fear! Your cat could be just like this one.
