With all the frigid weather that has been sweeping through the country recently, who isn’t yearning for a day at the beach?
Plenty of people are ready for all of this harsh winter weather to be done with and spring to arrive so that they can soak up the sunshine with fun outdoor activities, like going to the beach.
But it’s not just humans who are looking forward to this. Plenty of animals also enjoy going to the beach as well. In fact, some of them, who are fortunate enough to live in warmer parts of the world, are already doing that. Just take the precious little dog in this video, for instance.
Just one glimpse of this tiny dog frolicking around in the surf will be enough to make anyone feel the sand beneath their soles and the waves lapping at their toes. Click here to watch this adorable video.
Some people and dogs may go to the beach to swim in the ocean, but not this little dog. They clearly prefer taking a mud bath to swimming in the sea, LOL.
Just look at them rolling and wiggling around in that muddy sand! You can’t even see most of their fur because they are so covered in mud! While their humans might not be happy to see this dog getting so filthy, there is no denying that this adorable little canine is having an absolute blast!

After rolling around to their heart’s content, this little dog gets up, attempts to shake themselves off, and then trots along on their merry way.
The Internet absolutely loved this one! Instagram user budalidaisy4 wrote that this is a moment that will be cherished forever: “These will be your precious memories.”
While others commented on how precious and funny this dog was, with Instagram user luka_from_bondi joking that this dog has received the “Mud Spa VIP treatment.”
Why Do Dogs Like Rolling Around in the Mud?
There are a variety of reasons why our canine companions enjoy rolling around in the mud. Sometimes a dog will plunge into the mud in order to cool down on a hot day.
At other times, dogs will roll around in the mud to reclaim their natural scent. If they have recently taken a bath, they may not like the way their fur smells because of soap and shampoo, so they may roll around in the mud to get rid of any smells that make them uncomfortable.
And sometimes dogs will roll around in the mud simply because it is fun! It can provide an excellent source of sensory enrichment for them.
