Animal siblings, much like human siblings, love to play games. Sometimes they will playfully splash around a water fountain together. And sometimes they will play a game of tag. But whatever the case may be, fun and games are fun and games, regardless of species… Well, that is, until the fun and games are no longer fun and games.
The rooster and dog in this video appeared to be playing a game of tag. However, some people on social media don’t think that that is what’s really going on here. Some believe that this dog is just having wholesome fun, while others believe that this rooster is not. Some viewers think that this rooster feels threatened by this dog and is seriously trying to fight him off.

On the surface, this does appear to be a very cute, fun, and games scenario between two animal siblings. It resembles a wholesome game of tag. This certainly is a lot of running happening as this dog playfully evades the rooster.
Given the dog’s demeanor and body language, his tail wagging nonstop, the way he crouches low in a playful position, and how he playfully sniffs at the rooster when things calm down, we think it is safe to say that this is just a game to him.

This rooster, on the other hand, seems to be taking this much more seriously. Every chance he gets, he seems to be going full speed ahead and pecking at this dog in a heated attempt to fight him off. Or at least it appears to be that way. This dog is running in circles around the henhouse, after all. It only makes sense that this rooster would want to protect his hens.

Viewers on social media were split about whether this rooster was simply playing with his canine sibling or trying to fight him off.
Some people believed that this rooster was fighting off this dog, rather than playing with him: “The dog was actually being friendly and playing with the rooster, and the rooster thinks he’s attacking the dog, LOL!”
While others thought that both the rooster and the dog were definitely playing together and that this video was totally “wholesome, precious, carefree, and happy.”
Some people even commented that this video represented a wholesome, high watermark on social media for them and that they wanted to get off of social media after watching it: “Ok, this is the joy I needed, thank you. Turning off phone before anything ruins this.”
