If there are two dog breeds that thrive on attention, it’s the Golden Retriever and the German Shepherd. Both of them are awesome dogs, but if you’re not ready for attention-seekers, they might not be for you.

Now, imagine mixing both of these breeds: you come away with a Golden Shepherd. Absolutely stunning, smart, and one of the best breeds for families. However, they’re also the biggest divas in the world:

Bear and Nala the Golden Shepherds are siblings, both because they live in the same house and because they’re littermates. They look a lot alike, and they have matching attitude problems, too. In this case, their dad didn’t want to share his snacks or give them attention.

They hated that. Their best course of action was obviously to sit and look all sad! They pulled their best puppy eyes, but nothing cracked his resolve. Good job staying strong, Dad! With pups that cute, it must have been so tough!

Bear and Nala are adventurous dogs, so they love to get out of the house. Though not all the time, sometimes they leave the house while wearing cute, matching raincoats:

They live in Washington, so those raincoats definitely come in handy more than you’d think. They’ve got thick double coats, but getting water in their fur is a good way to trigger the zoomies!

What Are Golden Shepherds Like?

Golden Shepherds are hilarious. They’re a cross between Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds, which means they’re:

  1. Intelligent and relatively easy to train.

  2. Adventurous and always ready to go somewhere.

  3. Kind and friendly to kids, dogs, and other pets.

  4. Big and fluffy, great for snuggling!

You will need to make sure that they have plenty of enrichment throughout the day: interactions, walks, playtime, and puzzle toys can help. You’ll also need to keep on them about their good habits, because they can be overwhelming if they’re not properly trained. Oh, and they’re massive divas…
