Dogs are so proud sometimes. One of the best feelings ever is when your dog gets a new toy and immediately comes trotting up to you like, “Look what I have!” They want nothing more than for us to be proud of them, too!
One Golden Retriever mix has taken pride to the next level. She loves her toys, and she wants the whole neighborhood to know it, so every day, she makes a new display in the window:
It really is Nellie’s World, and we’re all just living in it. She could rearrange the whole entire world, and everyone would simply go along with it! Clearly, the girl knows what she’s doing. I love how she put the dinosaur almost perfectly in the window. The green color really makes the red harness pop!
That was just that day’s display. The green toy is referred to as her Pajama Dinosaur, and she’s actually had it in the window for a while. It’s one of her favorites! Here it is from the other side:
She added in her chew toy that day. I guess she wants the whole neighborhood to see how strong her teeth are! She was rescued as a puppy, so most of her life has been spent being treated like an absolute princess. Nellie is some sort of Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees/something else mix, and she’s stunning!
Rescue Dogs Can Learn to Play
One of the main things some people use as a caveat to rescuing dogs, whether they’re puppies or not, is that they’re not as playful as a puppy you might get from a breeder. While this might be true at first, rescue dogs can be playful, too!

Rescue dogs might refuse to play when they first get to your home because they:
-
Are feeling scared and disoriented.
-
Have never had a toy before.
-
Are worried about making noise or being disruptive.
-
Are still struggling after being surrendered.
In time, though, most rescue dogs will come around to the idea of playing, and they might even arrange their toys for all to see! How precious is that?!
