Mom Gives Her Sassy Cat a Talking To, and It’s Too Funny

Cats really do live the best lives. They don’t pay rent or bills, they lie around all day in the sun and chase bugs, and they still have the nerve to complain.

One cat mom had had enough and recorded a video for YouTube that is just so funny, we can’t get enough of it.

“So I wanna clarify something with you,” the mom tells her adorable cat, who has curled up under her chin to meow with a lot of sass. “You live here for free,” the cat’s mom says with a serious tone. “You eat gourmet salmon pate every day. And you think you can silence me when I speak to you, still? You don’t pay a dime.”

The cat is too cute, hissing in her mom’s face, but the best part is when the mom hisses right back! It’s all in play, of course, but it’s just too relatable.

“She’s an emotional un-support kitty,” one commenter says.

“Enough Patricia,” another commenter says in the voice of the cat, “you work for me.”

“Really turning pet ownership into the complete parenting experience,” comments another.

What Does It Mean When a Cat Hisses?

It may come as a surprise, but when a cat hisses, it’s not actually a message of flat-out aggression.

Hissing is, in fact, a defensive move for a cat. They might pull this move out when they are afraid, in pain, experiencing stress, or just want a bit more personal space.

In this instance, the cat can’t be any closer to their mom, so it’s pretty funny to imagine this cat wants personal space when it gets all in their mom’s face.

If your cat hisses and it’s not curled up under your chin, give it some space, avoid physical contact, and let it have some time to calm down and recalibrate its emotions.

If your cat is hissing from pain or fear, check for any injuries and the surrounding area for any threats. If your cat is safe inside your home, it’s likely nothing serious, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

Then again, if your cat lies right on your stomach and starts badgering you, you might want to give it a sassy talking to, like this cat mom.
