Falling in love with a four-legged friend is nothing less than life-changing. Pets can lift a person’s spirit in ways nothing else can, and what could feel better than saving a life and gaining a best friend? Some pet rescuers have been looking for a new pal for a long time, but others, like @thejhaswilliams, never expected their dog to come into their lives when they did.
On March 18, news anchor Jhas Williams shared the heartwarming and hilarious story of how she met her rescue dog, Boo. He came into the news studio for a pet adoption segment late last year, and he won his new mom over right away. What she didn’t know, however, was that the shy shelter dog she met was just a disguise for the chaotic, fun-loving puppy beneath!
Boo really pulled an Uno reverse after his new mom thought she pulled off the ultimate surprise. Jhas visibly melted as she bonded with the adorable, affectionate Pit Bull on live television, but I can only imagine how shocked she must’ve been when his timid personality did a complete 180.
“He’s obviously media trained,” explained @miriamfong_. That must be it! He’s such an incredible actor that he must have had proper training, but using his dramatic skills to get into a loving forever home was entirely his idea.

It’s hard to believe this rescue dog really went from needing someone to hold his head up to zooming down the entire hallway. Are we sure this is really the same dog? Jhas must’ve been asking herself this question (and hundreds of others) while processing the major difference between the dog she met and the dog she brought home.
A commenter named Mel was both hilarious and accurate when she said, “His ‘gotcha’ day really is his gotcha day.” He tricked everyone with his lazy dog act, but his friendly nature and fun-loving attitude never changed.
Boo’s Forever Home
Despite giving his mom a run for her money, Boo has proven to be the sweetest, happiest dog. He’s as cuddly as can be with his new mama, but he always makes time to cause chaos whenever he can.
Every shelter dog deserves to be this loved in their forever home! Watching Boo snuggle into his mom’s lap could make any dog parent teary-eyed, especially those who have rescue dogs of their own. There’s truly nothing better in life than a happy dog!
