Great Dane Serves as the Sweetest Lifeguard for Her 9 Dachshund Siblings

Every busy pool needs a good lifeguard, and there should be no exception for dogs.

Especially when the swimmers are nine crazy Dachshunds.

But instead of a studly young dude as the lifeguard, these Dachshunds have a senior Great Dane named Harley.

In a new video from @yunabugs, the mom of nine Dachshunds and now one Great Dane (as well as a cat), we get to see Harley being quite a dutiful lifeguard for her very active Dachshund siblings.

She is constantly watching them up close as they swim around in what is only a wading pool for Ms. Harley.

The pool the Dachshunds swim in was built by their mom in their big yard. It’s very shallow, and the Dachshunds just love it!

In fact, one Dachshund named Meatball enjoyed his water time a bit too much.

In the video, his dog mom explains that Meatball was in the water too long and drank so much water that he almost drowned.

It was very scary, and his mom even considered getting rid of the pool altogether.

She said she now just monitors him closely during pool time and usually doesn’t let him participate at all.

“Is he dramatic about it? Yes, really dramatic, actually,” she said. Better safe than sorry, Meatball!

Perhaps if Harley had been the lifeguard, then they wouldn’t have had an issue.

9 Dachshunds, 1 Great Dane, and a Cat All Love Their Bunk Beds

At the end of the video, their mom gives us an update on the bunk beds she built for her tribe.

Believe it or not, all the dogs were sleeping in her bed before this, including the giant Great Dane.

So she DIY’d it and built them a massive bunk bed fort, and she said the pups love it and spend 95% of their time in it.

She did admit, though, that if she can’t find one of the Weens, it usually means they are hiding under the loft.

The cat, P.J., also loves the bunk bed, but only the top bunk. She can be found there when she isn’t spending time with her pet fish, Ruby!

Could this woman have any more pets?! But we love the happy chaos it creates!
