Who doesn’t love showing their cat lots of love?
In an adorable video posted to TikTok, a cat mom couldn’t help herself and bombarded her sweet baby with lots of kisses and affection. In the video, the cat’s mom held her close and showered her with kisses while the cat accepted her fate and let it happen.
In the text overlay, her mom joked that it was “either [the kisses] or the streets” while her baby looked slightly unamused at the camera. In the caption, her mom joked that her Tabby cat is “living rent-free, so I have to do this to her 😍🤣.”
The internet became obsessed with the adorable cat, with some users commenting that she was paying the “snuggle tax” for living with her parents.
“Rent is paid for with kiss-installments,” one user wrote, “Clearly, she was behind, so the owner is collecting her late fees.”
“My cat was at a shelter so she gets excessive amounts of unwanted kisses,” one user wrote in the comments, while another added, “This is such a universal experience for cats.”
Others loved the cat’s unamused reaction while she got the kisses, with one person joking in the comments that, “She’s reconsidering the streets option 😂.”
Some users agreed with the sentiment and also noted their cats react the same way when they’re getting kisses, commenting she’s “Suffering from success.”
One other user also said, “I love how they act as if they hate it, then get mad if you go a day without doing it.”

This adorable Tabby cat is not the only one that has to pay the rent through kisses and other forms of snuggling. “Every day rent is due. On demand,” another joked. “Mine just accepts it now 😂.”
Even my own Tabby cats have to pay up with plenty of kisses and snuggles from me as well. While they let me know when they’re officially annoyed by all the affection they are getting from me, I know they secretly love it too. My cat Kobe will even come up to me and yell if I don’t give him enough snuggles.
But of course, like any other cat, they will act like they don’t love it. Other people also noted similar reactions from their own pets, with one writing, “My cat runs from kisses. I can cuddle him and hold him like a baby, but no kisses.”
