Staffy ‘Finds the Courage’ to Squeeze Through the Doorway, and Everybody’s Rooting for Her

Meet Rosie, a Staffordshire terrier who was adopted by her DINK (dual income, no kids) pawrents about 6 months ago. Rosie is a sweet girl with a shy personality, and she’s sometimes afraid to try new things.

In this video, her mom shows Rosie facing one of her fears: squeezing through a doorway when the door is cracked open just enough for her to walk through. Many dogs don’t mind half-open or almost-closed doors at all, but Rosie has to find the courage to go through them if she wants to get to her mom. Her mom’s gentle encouragement surely helped her find the strength to do it, too!

Yay Rosie! Everybody watching was so proud of her for facing her fear of squeezing by that door, and we love that she understands that with high risk comes high reward. Her mom reminded everybody in the caption: “Rosie can do hard things and so can you!” It’s the kind of motivation we’re all here for!

Sweet Reactions to Brave Rosie

We love it when commenters have a sense of humor, and those commenting on Rosie’s video did not disappoint. @Miss Meloncholia shared, “So polite! My Husky just kicks in the door like she’s SWAT team, then turns around and immediately leaves.” @Mark D. Maddox also knows the feeling. “Meanwhile, my chihuahua KoolAid mans into any door…”

@Sarah Fritz joked, “Can’t believe you basically locked her out…,” while another commenter added, “I have the same body dysmorphia issues as Rosie LOL!”

Commenter @JMS pointed out, “Those sighs at the end! She pushed through her anxiety just to be with you. #healinggirlera.”

We laughed when @Hannah H. said, “My dog’s name is Rosie, and she does the same thing! Also, you have to invite her in, like she’s a vampire.”

Everybody smiled when @Kid Puerto Rico shared, “Hi Rosie. As your attorney, I will be filing to have a mandated fully open-door policy. We will also file for emotional damages and request extra treats and naps.”

We bet she gets it all, too!
