Some people are really out there living their best Disney life in ways I can only dream of. It’s the kind of setup where all different walks of animal life get along, there are bright, blooming flowers everywhere you look, and plenty of land for everyone to enjoy.
This exact scenario is playing out in real time for one family, and it’s the bond between a deer named Benny and his ducks that is the sweetest thing you’ll see this week!
Move over, Elton John, because “Benny and the Ducks” are taking the world by storm! The precious deer has grown up around lots of different fur companions, but his trio of ducks thinks he’s their fearless leader, and they’re absolutely obsessed with him. With how tender and gentle Benny is, he’s clearly worth the hype.

When you’re born into a diverse family where cats, dogs, and ducks grow up together, you’re living large. It’s like a cartoon come to life! There’s a lot we can learn from the way these pets go about their lives, side by side—together.
Credit goes to the way Benny was raised. As a baby, he was treated like all the others and even developed an affinity for the dog bed. He probably thinks he is a dog now!
Why Deer and Ducks Get Along
While every situation is different, things at Benny’s crib work because he was raised to befriend all the other pets like any fur siblings. The dogs seemed more than ready to help little Benny out, and I think that helped him accept and love the ducks the way he was loved and accepted.
In the wild, deer and ducks are known to coexist and graze together. A lot of this has to do with neutrality, as neither ducks nor deer sees the other as a threat. Since deer can be curious and playful at times, it’s not uncommon for ducks to take notice and want to join in the fun.
Likewise, ducks born to a wide variety of other pets will imprint, learning the ways of the world from them. I guess sweet Benny was up for the task! We can’t all live the Disney life with our own version of Benny and the Ducks, but a girl can dream!
