Golden Retriever Embraces Stuffie for the Best Sleep Ever

Few things in life make my heart happier than watching my pets (or kids) sleep peacefully. It calms something in me that nothing else can, and like parents everywhere, I always pull out the camera to capture all the sweetness.

Josie, the Golden Retriever, is one reason why. When she naps, she embraces her favorite stuffie like the little angel she is. This is one perfect clip sure to brighten your day.

The fact that Josie’s mom shared a quick 8 seconds of the most beautiful scene is criminal. We want full minutes, an hour even! Josie couldn’t be any cuter, cradling her special baby, probably dreaming of frolicking outside, catching butterflies on her nose, or giving Mom kisses.

The precious pup needed to get her beauty sleep so she could celebrate National Puppy Day, which was on March 24. I think that day should be an official national holiday that we celebrate at least once a week. That seems fair and reasonable, right?

The reason why is in a follow-up clip of the pretty princess that shows those adorable early interactions with the Golden Retriever puppy. If you didn’t have puppy fever before, this is your warning! You may experience an intense need to rush to your nearest shelter or rescue and adopt one immediately!

Why Stuffies Comfort Dogs

I love a pup who has a favorite stuffed animal. It somehow makes even the cutest dogs look even more adorable. By mimicking the soft, warm texture of littermates as a puppy, stuffies can become a security item for comfort (like a blankie for kids).

Having a stuffed toy is also a way to cope when they’re bored, anxious, or stressed, and it also scratches their “need to hunt prey” itch. For puppies, teething on a stuffie can soothe their teeth and gums, which is a good thing (or they’ll chew up your shoes)!

Josie cuddling her stuffie is yet another reminder that we don’t deserve dogs and the things they love (and never will)!
