Some love stories start with candlelight dinners or long walks on the beach. Others begin in a veterinarian’s waiting room, like this one. A viral video shows a man sitting quietly in a vet’s office when the clinic’s resident Orange Cat decides he’s found his person.
The video doesn’t show how the cat got there—we only see the moment he’s already curled up in the man’s arms, rubbing his face against his chin and purring like an engine. The man sits there with the softest smile, gently stroking the cat’s fur, as if they’ve known each other forever. It’s the kind of quiet, spontaneous bond that makes the internet collectively melt.
In the clip shared on TikTok by @roctherealest, the man at the vet explained in the comments that he has three cats at home whom he loves very much, so maybe this sweet orange guy knew he was in a safe space. One person said, “You must have excellent energy, sir.” Another person added, “You are now that cat’s uncle.”

Another person said, “He recognized a good human.” One more comment read, “He must know you have a good soul.”
As a cat mom of three, all my babies are affectionate in one way or another, but there are ways you can make your own kitty love on you more frequently!
Can You Raise a Cat To Be Affectionate?

Having a cat who’s an absolute snuggle bug is such a flex, because we all know kitties can be independent and sometimes aloof. So, can you raise a cat to be a big old lover boy? Absolutely. While some felines are naturally cuddlier than others, most can become more affectionate with trust and patience. Spend time near your cat without forcing interaction, offer treats when they approach you, and always let them initiate contact. Gentle play and calm energy help them associate you with safety.
Over time, even the shyest kitties can turn into total snuggle bugs—just like that orange sweetheart at the vet, who proved love at first purr is very, very real.
