Caring for a dog has many similarities to caring for children, especially at the most basic level. Everyone needs food, water, love, and potty breaks to feel their best, but some dogs have even more childlike characteristics—just like Toby!
This English Bulldog’s priceless tantrum proves why so many pet parents consider their dogs and cats to be their four-legged children. He acts exactly like a toddler when he throws a fit over the smallest inconvenience! Before they got up to help him, though, his parents couldn’t resist capturing the chaos on camera for all to see.
What an icon! Part of me wonders whether Toby hams it up for the camera, but there’s no way he knew his parents were filming when he was so locked in to his bone. He’s just naturally a dramatic dog!
Observant viewers like Emily noticed, “The way his ears immediately shifted back like ‘that was it! That was my last straw!’”

It was oh-so-relatable! I couldn’t get over the way he stared in disbelief before his emotions took over, or the fact that his tantrum lasted even longer than the video.
Another commenter pointed out, “He could have used that energy to get up and get the stick,” but we won’t tell Toby that. I’ve seen an English Bulldog with an attitude before, but this lazy guy takes sassy to whole new levels!
English Bulldog Behavior
Every dog may be unique, but plenty of pups resort to tantrums and other attention-grabbing behavior when they’re unhappy or asking for something. Sound familiar?
@Masterpancake shared, “My old Bulldog would walk into his crate, then sit down and cry at me until I closed the gate for him.” We love a king who knows what he wants! Dogs find their own ways of being demanding and adorable at the same time, and I’ll be the first to admit—it almost always works!
I can only hope that Toby’s parents stopped filming to help him recover his stick, and then all will be right in the world again.
