If you foster animals enough, your pets will soon come to expect them. They’ll start to fill in a very important role: Welcome Wagon. They become professionals at helping scared and confused animals adjust to live in their temporary homes. It’s a crucial part of the fostering process!

Some pets are better equipped for this than others from the start, though it definitely gets easier with time. Plus, there might be an animal your resident pet really connects with, which is a blessing and a curse. While it’s easier when they’re in your care, it makes it tough to let go!
For one Bernedoodle, it wasn’t one animal… It was five. He became the foster dad to five entire kittens, and the internet went bonkers:
Jessica Mixon is no stranger to fostering, or to having pets in general. In addition to Rock, the Bernedoodle dad in this video, she has another dog. They take great care of their foster kids together, though Rock is definitely a little more involved.
By that, I mean that he never leaves the kittens alone. He likes to monitor them at all times, and when he can’t, he entrusts their care to his mom. However, the kittens have come to love their new dad… and to make things even better, it seems like they’re leaning toward keeping all of them!

Rock is still in training, so in some of these videos, he’s wearing a training collar. He’s totally fine; it just helps him not push things too far! He can get a little too excited sometimes, so they need to help him keep the kittens safe.
He’s taking his single dad duties very seriously, though. He’s even trying to help keep the kittens on their toes with funny sneak attacks:
They’re used to his antics, don’t worry. This is just what dads do! My dad still loves to try to spook my siblings and me whenever he can.
Bernedoodles Make Great Siblings
Doodles in general are said to be some of the best dogs: people swear they’re perfect for families, apartments, people with allergies, etc.,. Doodles come in all different breeds these days; you can make a Doodle out of just about any dog you can think of.
Bernedoodles in particular are gaining popularity because they’re some of the best. They’re a cross between a Poodle and a Bernese Mountain Dog, and as a result, Bernedoodles are:
-
Good with kids and other pets.
If Rock is any indication, the Bernedoodle is a fantastic choice if you’re looking for a multi-pet household. And who knows, maybe they’ll become the family dad!
