Standard Poodle’s Wiggly Nose While Sniffing Is Completely Adorable

Every creature on this planet uses their senses to experience the world around them. Some species rely more on scent than others, and for dogs, experiencing the world through scent is a big factor. Every stop, sniff, and smell is a full investigation, even when we have no idea what they’re experiencing.

In this clip, we meet a gorgeous dog who loves to investigate all the smells in the wind, and you can tell when she’s in full detective mode because her nose does a really cute thing.

TikTok user @winnie.the.spoodle shared a video of Winnie, an adorable Standard Poodle with fluffy brown hair. She’s outside in the fresh air with her human, enjoying the sunshine. But there’s something we can’t see that’s caught her attention. And while it’s not clear what has her so interested, it’s clear that there’s something because her wiggly nose gives that away.

It’s hard to see at first, but if you watch her nose while her head is scanning the air, you can see it wiggle back and forth as she’s trying to sniff out the smells of nature. It’s equal parts hilarious and silly, and as the video’s caption says, her little nose is always working hard.

In the comments, one person wanted some insider information and asked what Winnie was after that caught her attention. Her mama answered, “I have no clue. She smells things we don’t smell! I didn’t smell anything different, LOL.”

Standard Poodles Are Very Active Dogs

It’s so fun to watch Winnie outside, discovering things just by sniffing the air and getting more information than we could imagine. According to experts, she’s likely very active as a Standard Poodle.

The American Kennel Club describes the Standard Poodle as “very smart, proud, [and] active,” and their energy levels are near the top of the spectrum, close to “high energy,” while hitting the top of the mental stimulation needs, noting they always need a job or activity to be their happiest self.

They’re “wickedly smart,” and with one glance at Winnie’s wiggly nose, we know that’s a very true fact.
