Dog Rescued From Rooftop Chimney Finds a Fresh Start in Life

Unfortunately, we hear stories every day about animals being mistreated or living in terrible conditions, and it’s heartbreaking. Thankfully, a recent viral TikTok video from the Michigan Humane Society tells the story of one little Pit Bull mix with a very happy ending. The rescuers affectionately gave him the name Stack, and after watching his story, you’ll know why!

Stack is a Pit Bull mix puppy who recently needed rescuing. His rescue required a coordinated effort because he was stuck on the roof, specifically on the chimney stack. Apparently, the little pup was spotted by a concerned neighbor who contacted the local humane society.

After assessing the situation, it was determined that some very special people and equipment would be needed to safely get the sweet boy down. Sadly, Stack was perched in a very dangerous location, and the Detroit Fire Department had to be called in to help with his rescue.

The pup waited patiently. In fact, he seemed to know he was in danger and that the people on the ground were there to help him to safety. The fire department got right to work, immediately sending a few firefighters up the ladder boom, and they quickly got the pup back on solid ground.

Where Is Stack, the Rescued Puppy, Now?

Thankfully, Stack was brought to safety by the brave Detroit firefighters on scene and then taken to the Mackey Center for Animal Care for medical care and treatment. After being assessed by their team of care specialists, it was determined that the pup just needed to put on a few pounds and was otherwise in good shape.

Stack’s rescue made the evening news, and many people were asking for an update. He was even featured on the local news a few days later, where he was the star of the show… literally!

Thank you to everyone involved in his rescue and follow-up care. This story has a happy ending, and we have no doubt Stack will be adopted very soon!
