The little fluffy cows are my favorite, and I know that I’m definitely not alone. They’re called Highland cows, and they’re native to the Scottish Highlands and famous for being some of the cutest cows ever. These cows have totally taken over the internet. Everybody wants to have a Highland Cow!

People who actually have Highland cows aren’t helping, either. They want everyone to know that they’re every bit as awesome as we think they are! These cows are playful, sweet, and they love making friends both on their farms and even in the wild.
Recently, a mini Highland cow made his way closer to the “wild,” and he couldn’t believe what he saw there. He stumbled right into some other cows, and the excitement on his face is everything:
The Bucket List Ranch is a pretty cool place to live. The ranch is in Texas, and it’s a whole family thing: lots of land and lots of animals. There’s even a river on the property, and just across it is where some of the cows live. The Highland cows live on the other side.
This was the first time that Baloo, a mini Highland cow, had ever seen the cows, and he was loving it! He makes his way as close to the “wild” as he can, which pretty much just means he goes to the fence, but the rest of the cows went on a journey. They crossed the river to see him!

Baloo is in love immediately. I love his happy hops as he sees them, like, “those are my people! My friends!” He does seem to be wondering where their clothes are, since their coats are smooth as opposed to his fluff, but that’s okay. If he could, he’d share!
When he’s not busy trying to meet new friends from across the river, you’ll find Baloo either zooming around or lying down, waiting for his mom to come and brush him. With fur like his, he has a pretty demanding maintenance routine:
I want to brush him! My turn!
Highland Cows Are Very Social
Highland cows are a dream pet for many, and for good reason. These cows can often learn to love humans, and they make a great addition to any farm as long as you have the space.
However, if you want to get one, you need to make sure they have friends! Highland cows get along well with:
Baloo will make friends with anyone, though the cows across the river are the ones he covets! He loves them!
