Everyone gives cats credit for their toe beans, and for good reason. Cats have adorable toe beans. Most of the time, if that’s what we’re looking for, cats are what everyone defaults to. They’re perfect!

However, as a dog person, I have to say that dogs have some pretty impressive toe beans, too. They’re precious, and they can either be huge or tiny, depending on the dog. A Great Dane’s Toe beans might be the size of a Chihuahua’s whole paw!
On Tuesday, November 11th, one very cute Merle Bernedoodle puppy’s perfect toe beans totally broke the internet. They’re so pretty and pink that they legitimately look like they might be fake, but they’re not! He’s just that beautiful!
Truffle the Bernedoodle is the most handsome Bernedoodle I’ve ever seen in my entire life. His Merle coat, perfectly speckled, makes him look like a little baby cow. Instead of hooves, however, he has perfect pink toe beans. They even have little black hearts on them!
This video is a little bit of a throwback: it’s from a year ago. He’s a year old now, so he’s gotten quite a bit larger, but don’t worry. His toe beans are still huge!

As he’s grown up, he’s grown into more of his Bernese Mountain Dog side, too. One of his legs is mostly tan, which is classic Bernese, though most of him is black and white. Thanks to his Merle gene, his coat is perfectly speckled.
He’s a pretty big boy:
He loves taking walks with his bestie, Pancho. I bet Pancho has cute toe beans, too!
Are Merle Bernedoodles Purebred?
By definition, a purebred dog is a dog who is one breed. They do not have any other breeds in their lineage, meaning that no Doodle breeds are technically purebreds, and neither is any other crossbreed.
However, Merle Bernedoodles especially cannot be considered “purebred” in the Doodle world, as the Merle gene is not naturally occurring in Poodles or Bernese Mountain Dogs. Somewhere down the line, another dog breed that does possess the Merle gene was introduced into the mix.
These dogs are hard to come by and they can be very expensive, but look at them! Truffle’s beautiful face and perfectly pink toe beans are priceless!
