Golden Retriever Gets Busted Stealing From Table and Has Zero Regrets

Comet, the Golden Retriever, is a sneaky girl who loves to steal things she knows she isn’t supposed to have. Whether it’s a bunch of bananas off the kitchen counter or a new roll of toilet paper from the bathroom, she’s always ready for a heist.

This sweet girl recently got caught red-pawed by her human as she tried to make off with a container lid—but honestly, her cute “I didn’t do it eyes” make her look innocent, even with the plastic snap lid hanging out of her mouth!

If there is one thing puppy parents know, it’s how fast their four-legged child can move when they know they are in trouble. Comet is no different, and her mom caught the whole incident on camera.

At the beginning of the video posted on TikTok by @peachycomet22, Comet quietly decides to jump up on the kitchen chair, grab the lid in her mouth, and take off with it. It briefly gets caught on a jacket hanging over the back of the chair, and just as the Golden turns around, Mom says, “What do you think you’re doing?”

It was at that moment that she knew she was toast. Comet looks up at Mom, then carries on with her mission like it’s an assigned task—not like she’s been busted mid-crime.

The sassy Golden Retriever makes a beeline out of the room, and even when her human catches up with her again, she sticks with her original plan and runs off one more time, with the lid still proudly in her mouth.

Comet Has a Team of Supporters

One commenter couldn’t help but laugh, saying, “She’s like, ‘Don’t mind me.’ LOL!” while another fan added, “LOL, those eyes… I’m a sucker for those eyes every time!” The comment section had lots of heart emojis and laughing faces from friends who just adore Comet.

A helpful viewer even pointed out, “She just showed her talent… she retrieved something! You are so lucky!” It’s clear that Comet’s antics have stolen viewers’ hearts—and not just a few household items. LOL!
