One of the best parts of bringing home a new puppy is watching in wonder as they discover the world around them. Honestly, it must be a truly fascinating adventure for them every step of the way. They get to learn new things every day—everything from figuring out what their new humans smell like, to locating the potty spot in the backyard, and of course, playing with all their brand-new toys!
However, not every new toy is an instant hit, and one recent Instagram video shared by @halfhuskybros is cracking everyone up. Teddy, an adorable 9-week-old Husky-Golden Retriever mix, was very unsure of his new walking-and-barking tiny dog toy—and the resulting footage is hilarious.
As the toy moves across the kitchen floor, Teddy jumps around it like a jackrabbit. He uses his paws to “swipe” at it, as if he wants to get close but then immediately changes his mind. The fluffy puppy tries barking at the toy, only to freak out a little when he accidentally makes contact with it!
His older siblings are nearby for moral support—though they also look a bit skeptical. Teddy bounces and hops while trying to determine just how big of a “threat” he’s dealing with, but ultimately, he conquers his fear. He knocks the toy over, picks it up by the tail, and does that classic puppy head-flop move back and forth to really show the toy who’s boss.

Then Teddy grabs the tiny barking dog by the ear and takes off running toward the door. The caption reads, “Bury you in the backyard,” implying exactly what he plans to do with the silly toy!
@labmomforever joked, “Give us some warning before posting such a sweet video. My glucose is skyrocketing!” Meanwhile, @dfcaen added, “Hahaha, Teddy is very funny. Not intimidated at all. He checked out the new puppy and decided he could take him on. And he was getting rid of him ASAP!!”
This little pup is pure cuteness overload, and we can’t wait to see lots more of Teddy as he grows up!
