No One Loves Baths More Than This Dachshund

If you’re reading this, you are highly likely to have a pet. And there’s a high likelihood that you’ve given that pet a bath—or at least attempted to give it a bath. And there’s still a high likelihood that if you are a pet parent and have given that pet a bath, that pet probably hated it and made it miserable for both of you.

That’s what made us appreciate this recently published TikTok video from TikTok user @doxiebenny. The account features a dachshund named Benedict, and Benedict absolutely loves baths. He loves it to the point that it’s hilarious. The TikTok video is captioned, “If loving baths is wrong, he doesn’t want to be right.”

“If Loving Baths Is Wrong, He Doesn’t Want to Be Right”

The 60-second TikTok video starts with Benedict in a bathtub, sitting directly beneath the faucet as water pours down on his head. The caption on the screen reads, “New tub, same routine.” Benedict has his eyes closed and is just letting the water pour right on top of him. The following clip features Benedict walking across the bathtub to the faucet, so he can put his head directly underneath it, plop down, and take it all in.

From then on, it’s mostly the same in the video. Benedict lies down on his side in the water and puts his head directly underneath the faucet. And as the tub fills and Benedict starts to float, he keeps repositioning himself so his head is directly underneath the faucet. We’ve definitely never seen a dog try so hard to keep itself underneath a heavily pouring faucet, or be so content letting the water pour all around him. When the water finally turns off and the bath is over, there is a clip of Benedict standing in the emptying tub, soaking wet and very sad.

There are some pretty excellent comments from other TikTok users on the video. One of our favorites is from TikTok user @AshleyMarie, who says, “Meanwhile, my dog acts like I’m pouring acid on her.” We definitely know how that goes. “I love whatever is wrong with him,” commented TikTok user @Freshi. The video even drew a comment from YouTube’s official TikTok account: “He looks so at peace under his personal waterfall.”
