There are plenty of dog breeds out there who sometimes look more like other animals than dogs… like the way that some Goldendoodle puppies look exactly like teddy bears. There’s something so adorable about this phenomenon, and it even applies to big dogs, too.
Case in point: The gorgeous Samoyed in the TikTok video below who looks more polar bear than dog (and in the cutest possible way).
In this video shared by @woollycola, we get to meet the sweetest mini polar bear (named Cola) who is actually a dog — but I’d totally believe him if he said he was a bear instead.
I will concede that Cola is much cuter than a real polar bear, though, especially with a face like that… and all that fluff!
And the fact that he looks so happy to see his human? That’s just the icing on the adorable dog cake.
“Some call me ice bear,” says the caption on the video.

Samoyeds Have a Lot in Common With Polar Bears
It’s not just that Samoyeds tend to look like adorable polar bears; in a lot of ways, they are really similar to polar bears, too — especially when it comes to cold weather.
As Web MD points out, Samoyeds were first bred in a Siberian town with temperatures of -60 degrees, so they are able to withstand extreme cold, far more than many other dog breeds could handle.
They accomplish this with the help of their thick coat, which keeps them warm, and their smiles aren’t just adorable; their mouths are upturned so that they won’t drool and end up with icicles on their faces, which is pretty cool.
According to the site, Samoyeds were also used to help keep humans warm in these bitter temperatures that they live in, so if you ever feel like you’re sleeping with a living space heater when you cuddle up with your pup in bed, that might be why.
These giant snowballs really are special animals for so many reasons!
