Calico Cat Shows off the Floofiest Little Toe Beans

Some cats have cute paws, and then there are cats whose toe beans look like they were crafted out of tiny cotton clouds. In this adorable clip, a Calico cat named Kitty stretches out her paw and reveals a full set of floofy little toe beans that honestly don’t even look real.

They are soft and fluffy and so perfectly round that they could be mistaken for miniature marshmallows. She wiggles them with the kind of quiet confidence only a kitty who knows she is adorable can pull off. It is a tiny moment, but it is peak Calico charm. They almost look spikey! Just watch this cute clip.

The video of the adorable Kitty was shared by @jkittyz5 on TikTok, and people in the comments are pretty impressed by this cat’s toes! One person said, “Majestic bean sprouts!” Someone else added, “Toe floofs are one of my favorite things.”

Someone else said, “Daggers disguised as fluffy mittens.” That is so true, take it from someone who knows. My huge cat Meatball always shows me his tummy, and when I pet him, he attacks! Not very fun!

If you’ve ever wondered why a cat has toe beans, beyond being adorable, toe beans actually serve some important functions. They’re packed with nerve endings that help kitties sense surfaces and control their balance while walking or pouncing. They also act like little shock absorbers when kitties land from jumps (even if this cat’s biggest leap right now is onto a bed). Live Science explains, “The insides of cats’ toe beans are made of fat tissue bound to collagen, which gives them their squishy, bouncy feel and helps absorb shock waves from impact. One study that examined the structure of domestic cats’ paw pads found that they become stiffer as they compress, which helps cushion a landing. The researchers also observed that on a cellular level, paw pads are filled with ellipse-shaped pockets of fat that absorb energy and prevent instability when the cat is landing.” And while every kitty parent knows those pink pads are irresistible, be careful touching them—those beans are delicate, especially on a growing kitten. No matter how floofy they are!
