‘Unbothered’ Cat Happily Accepts Job as Vizsla Sister’s Pillow in Cute Clip

Having a buddy to go through life with makes everything so much better. When you’re a nervous little pup, sometimes all it takes is leaning on your feline friend for comfort.

Some may call Poppy “unbothered” for allowing her Vizsla sister Dahlia to literally lie on her like a pillow, but it’s for a good reason. The fluffy kitty isn’t only Dahlia’s cat compadre, but the reason Dahlia can relax at all. Their unusual connection is a heartwarming example of the greatness a companion can do for your emotional and physical health!

I love a good cat/dog friendship that defies all odds, and these two are raising the bar. Sisters from other misters, the dynamic duo will win you over by the way they sweetly look after one another—even just for relaxing.

If you couldn’t tell, Poppy’s monarch butterfly-speckled face is the stuff Halloween dreams are made of, but she’s so much more than her beauty. The ever-reliable kitty sister serves as playmate, cuddle buddy, and Dahlia’s support system, and she does it with such grace.

Poppy Is Dahlia’s Therapy Cat

As if this sweet pair couldn’t get any better, Poppy’s role as emotional support is a very real thing, and she takes her job seriously. Dahlia has something called “laser pointer syndrome,” which is a behavioral condition that dogs and cats can get after exposure to laser pointers.

It’s something many pet parents might not think about, but it can spiral into a full-blown obsessive-compulsive disorder, which is what Dahlia struggles with.

Because of her paranoia, the poor pup becomes obsessed with light sources, shadows, reflections, or anything flashing to the point of it giving her extreme anxiety and depression from every incident. Luckily, Poppy is right there to comfort her when the Vizsla gets worked up, even if it means acting as her pillow so she can rest.

I see a lot of precious pet pairs every day, but I can honestly say that Poppy and Dahlia deserve the world. It was clearly meant to be that Poppy would come along to help Dahlia overcome her fears, and the pup is more than happy to return the favor. They’re perfect together!
