Not every dog is brave. Not every dog is chill. And then there’s this Dachshund mix who takes one look outside the window and decides it’s time for a full-body panic. In the hilarious clip, he’s staring out the glass door, his entire little body trembling like a leaf in the wind, eyes locked on something lurking in the yard. You’d think it was a mountain lion. Or a bear. Or at least a raccoon with attitude.
But nope. The camera pans over and reveals the terrifying threat: a tiny Black Kitten. A literal baby. Smaller than a sneaker. Sitting politely and minding their business like, “Hello sir, lovely weather we’re having.” Meanwhile, the dog is vibrating like he’s about to lose control of his soul. The contrast is honestly art. Just check this out. So much drama!

The short clip of this poor, terrified pup was shared on TikTok by @annelisemucci, with the caption, “SHAKING at the sight of an apex predator right outside the door. For real, our dog is not cat-friendly, even when it’s the sweetest little baby kitten.”
One person offered the hilarious suggestion and said, “Girl, if you don’t bring that baby inside!!!! He’s shaking with excitement from the possibility of a new friend!” LOL! The worst thing you can do with a dog afraid of cats is introduce them to a helpless kitten. That will not end well.

And to be real, plenty of dogs and cats just don’t vibe. Some immediately click and become besties. Others need slow introductions, space, and lots of reassurance. And some, like our trembling hero here, decide that the appropriate response to a five-inch kitten is a nervous breakdown. It’s valid. It’s relatable.
One of the funniest parts of the video is how the kitten just sits there like a tiny judgmental ornament while the dog melts down behind the glass. Not barking, not running, not doing anything threatening. Just existing. Meanwhile, the Dachshund mix is giving full-on thriller-movie-soundtrack energy. In the end, the whole scene is hilarious and weirdly sweet. The kitten is unbothered. The dog is extremely bothered. I have a feeling this dog may not be getting a kitten of his own from Santa!
