As my Bernese mountain dog got older, I debated whether I should get him a puppy as a companion. I did a lot of research on it, went back and forth on it multiple times, and eventually decided not to do it for a few reasons. But a recent TikTok video I came across makes a compelling case for why I probably should’ve gotten my Berner, Huxley, a companion.
The video comes from TikTok user @golden_boy_boonie and features Boone and his little puppy friend, Bodie. The caption of the minute-long video reads, “One whole year of Boone and Bodie! Endless snuggles and wrestling. Pro tip: Get your golden a golden for Christmas.” The video starts with a clip of Bodie, a tiny puppy, being carried in by one of his human parents, and Boone jumping up to greet him in the cutest way. Boone follows Bodie, being held in the arms of his father, wagging his tail like crazy as the man gets to the center of the room with a Christmas tree in the background and sets Bodie down in front of Boone, who looks so excited to have a baby brother.

Year of Boone and Bodie Is So Adorable
Next, there are some adorable clips of the two playing together as Bodie is still a very little puppy. The two go back and forth, barking at each other and putting their paws up in that cute, playful motion dogs do when they really want to have fun. Then there’s a quick clip of the two sleeping and snuggling together, followed by a clip of them rolling around in the grass with some tennis balls.

Then there’s a hilarious clip of Boone pulling Bodie on a towel around some hardwood floors. Then it’s the two of them sleeping hard again, right next to each other. Next, they’re outside wrestling again before playing with a toy on their bed together. And then a clip of them both passed out hard again. Then some more hilarious wrestling, playing with a toy, and staring in the way only goldens can.
Then we get to some snow scenes where they’re both carrying the same stick. Next, they’re eating an apple together. And the remaining clips continue in the same vein, showing Bodie’s growth and the love the two brothers share. We totally agree with the pro tip. Get your golden another golden for Christmas.
