Toddler Doing ‘Grumble Voice’ To Feed Feral Cat Friends Is So Precious

When a toddler sees a cat, there are two options: they’re either going to love and want to pet them, or they’re going to be scared. Over time, a scared toddler can learn to love cats, though, just like cats can learn to love them.

Occasionally, though, there’s a third, funnier thing. Recently, one little girl showed off her expert method for feeding her feral feline friends, and I don’t think I’ll ever get enough:

The Cat Nip Lady loves seeing her feral cat friends just as much as her baby does. I’m not sure if she taught her this voice or if it just came naturally, but it cracks me up either way!

They live in Chicago, where there is certainly no shortage of feral cats. The one in this video is the most frequent visitor in their yard, though, and they refer to him as “Mister.” He gets fed food on a plate. While a baby does a feral cat voice at him.

Mister also has a son, but he’s apparently an indoor boy. He gets to see his father during leash walks with his mom and slightly feral toddler sister:

Okay, confirmed, she gets the voice from her mom. I don’t know what’s funnier, that or the fact that Mister gets supervised visitation with his son! He doesn’t seem too sold on him, though; maybe he wasn’t cut out for parenthood…

Interacting Safely With Feral Cats

If you have feral cats and you really want to interact with them, that’s your business. It’s important, however, to remember that feral cats aren’t just any cat. They’re unvaccinated, unwashed cats who don’t get a lot of human interaction.

Taking proper precautions is the best way to keep everyone safe. Things like:

  • Keep watch on their body language and back away if they’re getting annoyed with you.

  • Don’t let them lick you, and don’t kiss them.

  • As soon as you’re done interacting, wash your hands.

  • If you get bitten or scratched, immediately go to urgent care.

Luckily for Mister and his loved ones, he wouldn’t hurt a fly. Especially not a fly who did the grumble voice!
