Yorkies can sometimes have a tough time in winter. While there are plenty of Yorkies living in places where there’s little to no snow on the ground, there are others who aren’t so lucky. Many of them live in places with massive snowbanks, and that can make things hard.

They’ll live, even if they don’t love the snow, but they might! Snow is fun to play in, especially if you make sure they’re not out for long enough to get too cold. The wet, fluffy snow will incite the happiest hops you’ve ever seen, especially if they’ve never seen snow before!
For one little Yorkie puppy, his first snow day was everything he’d hoped it would be and more. He was having the time of his little short life. When he hops, it’s so precious how he takes some of the snow with him:
Elliot and Arlow are already getting along great, but now that the snow is here, Elliot might find it hard to want to play with his big brother. All he wants to do is frolic about! He loves everything about the snow, from the way it crunches to the way it tastes!
Elliot is only a few months old, so he’s roughly the size of a pea. He’s so tiny, and that only makes it better! Luckily, his mom knows just how to keep him warm, since he has a brother who’s already been through a winter. Arlow knows the good tricks, too!

You have to see these handsome boys in their bandanas, though. They’re just too precious:
These two already do so much together every single day, from napping to wearing bandanas. They also play in the snow together, though Arlow thinks it’s a little less fun than Elliot does. He’s been through a few winters already!
Yorkies Need Snow Safety Gear
If you’re planning on taking your Yorkie outside this winter, puppy or otherwise, you need to prepare them. To keep a Yorkie warm and their paws protected:
-
Consider buying them a little jacket.
-
If you don’t have booties, keep walks brief and wipe off their paws when they come inside.
Elliot is a safe, happy boy in the snow. He’s so lucky!
