A viral dog owner is sharing his pup’s adorable — but heartbreaking — behavior.

In a video uploaded to TikTok on Dec. 7 by a Labrador owner using the handle “Beau the Labracadabrador,” his pup can be seen barking at a puppy cam from inside his empty home.

Describing the clip, the owner overlaid the text, “My dog has realized that if he barks at his puppy cam when I go out it sends me a notification and I’ll talk to him. I’m torn between this being super cute or heartbreaking 🥺”

The internet clearly agreed, because the video has racked up over a million views and hundreds of thousands of likes on the platform, with hundreds in the comments weighing in on Beau’s behavior.

“It’s like your kid calling you at work for the most unnecessary things 😂😂” posted one.

“my heart would break 😭 baby misses you🥺” another wrote.

Shared a third: “He’s so smart for realizing this 😭 I wish my dog knew how often I check on her so she realizes she’s basically never alone bc I’m watching her all the damn time 💀”

On his account, where he has over 13,000 followers, Beau’s owner regularly posts videos of his pup in an array of adorable situations.

In September, he shared an especially energetic clip of Beau, over which he overlaid the text, “I’m scared to send my dog to professional training because what if they fix him and he isn’t funny anymore 🙈”

He also melted the internet’s heart later that month, when he captioned what appeared to be a video of an empty dock, “I can call my dog’s name 5 times and get no response.”

“But the second I say, ‘What’s this’ 🤣” he continued, as Beau’s head popped up out of the water with his curious eyes staring down the camera.
