Golden Retriever Caught Red-Pawed With Santa Doll’s Wig, but We Just Can’t Be Mad

Every year, we go through the motions of putting away the fall decorations and setting up the holiday ones in their place. In many pet-friendly households, this process can require finding creative ways to keep the decor safe from the animals and vice versa. Whether it’s trying to keep your cat out of the Christmas tree or preventing your dog from eating the poinsettia plant, the struggle is real.

One mom recently caught her Golden Retriever in the act of destroying an iconic holiday figure, and although it was probably upsetting at the moment, it made for a hilarious TikTok video featuring her sweet boy, Boone.

The short video clip starts with her holding a Santa doll that’s missing something important, being held in front of the camera. Mom says, “What happened to Santa?” as she lowers the figure and reveals a very “innocent-looking” Golden Retriever.

OK, he doesn’t actually look innocent—with Santa’s wig literally hanging out of his mouth—but Boone is just too adorable to really get upset with! Honestly, it’s the eye shift that sells it. As Mom lowers the decoration, he glances off to the side like, “I don’t know what you’re talking about!” or “Oh, this? I found this in the backyard and thought you might need it!”

Do You Think Boone Is Guilty?

The comment section immediately jumped in to defend Boone’s innocence despite the obvious evidence. @confidentlykasey said, “He didn’t do it… I can tell…” while @aerobics4u gently suggested, “It’s simply a haircut!” followed by laughing emojis.

Boone is a 5-year-old Golden Retriever who is clearly still in his teenage phase of life. He’s old enough to know better, but not old enough to resist following his intrusive thoughts!

Hopefully, Mom will be able to fix up Santa with some hot glue—and she may want to find a higher shelf to put him on, just in case Boone isn’t done with his new side job as a barber!
