Whether you’re a holiday season enthusiast or a Christmas Grinch, seeing an adorable dog sporting holiday attire is enough to melt even the most ardent holiday cynic. Let’s face it, an animal in a Christmas sweater is undeniably cute. And while most people picture a tiny pup being dolled up for the holidays, even cuter is a massive dog donning adorable holiday attire meant for a teeny, tiny pooch.
When a video of a massive Newfoundland wearing reindeer antlers in a store crossed my feed, naturally a scroll pause was in order. The fact that this gorgeous, antler-wearing Newfie happens to be holding the checkout clerk’s hand while serving the camera the most innocent “I just woke up like this” gaze made the TikTok video an immediate save and share.
Captioned, “Not the reindeer I ordered… but Santa’s newest recruit. Requires extra snacks: this cute video quickly went viral.
It’s no wonder. December is all about taking time to smell the roses and share videos of Newfoundland dogs wearing reindeer antlers for Christmas.
Judging by the fervor in the post’s comment section, I’m not alone in my appreciation for adorable, Christmas-decorated dogs.
One viewer wrote, “Not to be dramatic, but I’d lay down my life for this baby.”
Another wrote, “Absolutely beautiful. He is definitely a champ.”
Another newly converted Christmas appreciator added, “Oh come on, you’re too stinking cute. Huge hugs, big reindeer bear. Merry Christmas.”

Do Dogs Actually Enjoy Wearing Holiday Outfits?
While we can’t say for sure whether this Newfoundland, or any other furry friend for that matter, actually enjoys wearing Christmas sweaters and holiday-themed antlers, we can confirm that dogs are pack animals. Because their humans become their pack, domesticated dogs often want to be included in family activities and celebrations. Chances are, your pup is thrilled to join in with their pack’s holiday cheer.
Just don’t get mad at your precious pup if he or she wins the block party’s ugly Christmas sweater contest this year. Your dog is just trying to spread a little holiday cheer, which is what life is all about right now, isn’t it?
