Foster Tabby Kitten Is Furious Over Dry Food Like, ‘Why Am I Eating This?’

This clip shows a tiny foster Tabby kitten doing what she has to do—eating her food—while making it very clear that she has opinions about the situation. She takes bites, chews dutifully, and yet somehow manages to look furious the entire time, like she’s questioning every life choice that led her to this bowl.

She’s not refusing the food. She’s not walking away. She’s eating it. She’s just mad about it. This is me when I get chicken tendies instead of chicken nuggies in my fast-food order.

The video was uploaded to TikTok by @foster.kitten.fies, and one person said, “Oh, she’s so mad, she’s like, ‘Geez, Mom. How long did you leave this out for?’ Lol.” Someone else added, “When you’re too hungry to stop eating but still gonna be mad it’s not the right food.” We’ve all been there.

As funny as it is, there’s a reason kittens are often fed dry food—sometimes alongside wet food—especially in foster situations. Dry kitten food is formulated to support growth, provide essential nutrients, and help kittens develop strong teeth and jaws. It’s also practical for free-feeding, which can be helpful for growing kittens who need frequent access to calories.

That doesn’t mean kittens always like it.

Many kittens prefer wet food because of the texture and smell, and dry food can feel like a downgrade once they’ve had something softer and more flavorful. Still, eating it, even angrily, is better than skipping meals, and this little Tabby clearly understands that on some level.

What makes the moment so endearing is how expressive she is. She’s doing the responsible thing while also letting everyone know she expects better in the future. It’s the kind of honesty only a kitten can deliver.

Fostering kittens often means navigating big personalities in tiny bodies, and this one is clearly going places. She may be furious now, but she’s eating, growing, and thriving, and someday, she’ll probably look back on this moment and still feel personally wronged.

Until then, she’ll crunch her food and glare at the bowl. And honestly? Fair.
