Affectionate Cat Who Can’t Stop Staring at His Newborn Human Brother Has People in Tears

Bringing home a new baby is a big deal for everyone at home, even the four-legged friends. There are a lot of new sights, sounds, and smells for animals to adjust to, and they’ll eventually need to learn to interact with an entirely new person, too! There are a lot of milestones and memories to look forward to, but the very first one happens the moment the baby comes home.

Cat mom and new mom @__daisssyyyy didn’t know what to expect when she brought her newborn home from the hospital, especially from her white and gray tabby cat. What she saw on December 23, however, couldn’t have been any more reassuring. The curious kitty couldn’t stop staring at his new baby brother!

Could these new besties be any cuter? The sweet baby is sleeping soundly with no idea just how much their kitty BFF wants to meet them. Meanwhile, the cat is doing all they can to keep their cool in such an exciting situation.

Of course, nothing is cuter than watching the kitty sit up as tall as possible to get a better peek at the baby. It’s exactly as @misshhh6 said, “the cat could’ve jumped over to see, but he stood up instead.”

And when he did, he revealed the sweetest heart-shaped birthmark on his arm! Not many cats wear their heart on their sleeve, let alone as literally as this love bug. That detail alone makes Daisy’s cat as special as can be, but the bond he’ll build with his new BFF will be something his mama will remember forever.

Cats and Babies

Even though cats are known for their sass and aloof natures, many kitties prove that they can put the attitude behind them when a baby is around. It’s like they know when to be gentle!

“Cats are weirdos and assholes,” another commenter admitted, “but they understand when things are real and important. Then they give their all.”

Of course, cats will never stop being silly or letting their personalities shine, even when a new baby is in the picture. Maybe they’ll play in the baby swing or be curious about their tiny new friend, but one thing is for sure—no two cats react the same to meeting a baby for the very first time.
