A Golden Retriever named Rusty has a special attachment to a chair in his home that his mom calls his “emotional support” chair. She recently shared a video showing him as a puppy when his love for the chair began, as well as him growing up (and out!) of it, and it’s hitting everybody right in the feels.
As a puppy, Rusty was a big boy, but still small enough to nap on the chair. Over time, though, legs and paws start hanging off the sides of the chair, until one day, he can’t even lie down on it anymore. He’s now 10 months old, and nowadays, he can only sit in it like a human.
Rusty’s mom almost made us cry with her caption, “The way he kept getting bigger and the chair kept getting smaller…” It’s bittersweet to watch our fur babies grow up!

@mama_malbouef cracked us up with, “This has to be AI. Never have I seen such a calm Golden puppy LOL!” Rusty’s mom replied, “Hahaha, not AI! The chair is where he goes when he is super sleepy and wants to nap. Otherwise, the rest of the time, he is an absolute menace, LOL!”
There are usually one or two Negative Nellies who refuse to see the joy in a video and instead find something bad to say about it. @lorennakocijancic1w tried to point out, “If he had a comfortable bed or a comfortable mat, he would’ve forgotten about that chair long ago.” Mom wasn’t having it, though: “Rusty has multiple beds throughout the house, but regularly chooses the chair. Thanks for your input!”
Commenter @denise.johnson.9041 suggested: “This is a very weird idea, but I would contact the manufacturer of that chair (go for the CEO if you have to), show them these reels, get a custom larger chair made of this exact model! It’ll forever be a conversation piece!”
We were excited to see Rusty’s mom reply, “We actually have something VERY cool happening for Rusty and his chair! I can’t share yet, but keep an eye out!” We’ll all be waiting for the big surprise!
