Golden Retriever Wakes up From Nap Like She Just Got off a Red-Eye From Vegas

Naps can be a great way to restore our energy as we try to go about the rest of the day. But often, if you’ve had a particularly deep sleep, it can be tough to wake up again.

One sweet Golden Retriever named Cherry has awakened looking like she’s just back from a wild bachelorette party. Take a look at this hilarious clip uploaded to TikTok, in which a pup appears to be totally disoriented after her nap.

“She said, ‘What time is it!? Did I miss dinner?'” this sleepy gal’s family captioned the clip.

“She’s counting the meals AND treats she missed,” a fan wrote in the comments.

“The confusion! We’ve all been there!” another noted.

Too funny. I don’t blame this dog one bit either. I, too, struggle to wake up from a nap, often having to fight to remember: What day is this? What time is it? Why was I asleep in the middle of the day? I don’t nap often because I usually need to make a fresh pot of coffee, and it can feel like I’m beginning my day all over again.

Others definitely think this pooch is still pooped.

“The dog is wondering what year she woke up in?” one observer noted.

“This is how you know the sleep was good,” someone else pointed out.

So true. It must’ve been a great snooze to wake up with your ear inside out, LOL.

“OMG, stop, she is so pretty! Cherry, I love your hair. Such a sweet girl. And BTW, I feel this so much. If you’re not waking up like this, then go back to sleep until you wake up like this,” another person said.

How Many Hours of Sleep Per Day Do Dogs Need?

We think of cats as chronic nappers, but dogs love a little midday snooze as well. Just how much shut-eye does a canine need? To stay healthy, dogs should get about 12 to 14 hours of sleep per day.

Depending on a pup’s age, breed, and health, they could sleep up to 16 hours per day. Dogs who lack stimulation may also nap more, so it’s important to ensure they’re engaged physically and mentally to stay fit and healthy.

Cherry may take a few minutes to wake up, but we bet she’ll meet the rest of the afternoon with tons of energy!
