Golden Retriever Puppy Dreaming of Next Meal as He Sleeps Is So cute

We all have had vivid dreams in our lifetime. Sometimes they are so detailed and seem so real, we can’t believe it when we wake up.

Dogs have dreams, too. Sometimes they will be chasing a squirrel or a ball, and sometimes they will dream about eating delicious food.

That is exactly what we see in this cute video from an account called @the_dude_olly featuring Toffee, an adorable Golden Retriever puppy who just loves to eat.

In the short video, we see him licking his little pink tongue, darting in and out as he makes slurping sounds.

Her parent wrote in the text overlay, “Always dreaming of my next meal.”

In the caption, they wrote, “Just a dude who is always hungry! Pup cup, anyone?”

As the parent of a pup cup-obsessed Yorkiepoo, I can confirm that is the exact sound dogs make when ingesting a delicious Starbucks Pup Cup.

This pup has good taste!

One commenter wrote, “Food motivated even in your dreams.” Accurate!

Toffee is the newest addition to this family, which also includes Olly, a full-grown male Golden Retriever.

It looks like they just got Toffee in December, and the two dogs have had a very sweet holiday season together.

They snapped some great photos together and took some very sweet naps together, as well.

Napping is better with a buddy!

Do Dogs Dream the Same Way Humans Do?

We see in this video a pup actively dreaming, so we need to ask, do dogs dream in the same way as humans?

The answer is yes, very similar. Just like humans, dogs experience REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, which is the stage of sleep when humans dream.

Canines display the same brain patterns during dreams as humans.

According to the American Kennel Club, seeing the dog twitching, slurping, or even moving his legs are all common indicators of REM dreaming.

And just like us, pups tend to dream about the activities that fill their day, such as chasing, playing, and eating!
