Abused Bulldog’s Story About Learning To Love Is Melting Hearts

Dogs who have been abused and mistreated often struggle to trust humans again, even when they are surrounded by people who are patient, gentle, and determined to make them feel safe and loved.

About a year ago, Mia was rescued by GBSR Bulldog Rescue after surviving years of abuse and being “used as a breeding machine to produce countless puppies and profit for some truly cruel people.” With time, consistency, and endless patience, Mia’s foster family slowly earned her trust and showed her what a loving home can feel like.

We were so glad to hear that Mia found a forever family to love and who loves her unconditionally!

More of Mia’s Foster Story and New Life

In the video caption, GBSR shared more of Mia’s sad story: “When she arrived in foster care, she was quiet and timid, scared of her own shadow. The slightest noise would make her urinate, and she would then lie in her own mess to hide it, clearly terrified of being discovered. We dread to think what she had endured before.

Despite everything, Mia showed us she had the kindest heart. What she needed was space, patience, and time to learn how to trust again.

Fast forward two months, and she had won the hearts of everyone. From the cuddles she shared with her foster dad to the bond she formed with her big foster brothers, it was clear that Mia had found her home.

It took time to break her habits of hiding after accidents and running away from raised voices, but with love and patience, she slowly began to trust again and open her heart.

Now, a full year later, Mia is loved, happy, and completely settled. She’s a sassy girl who’s had a total glow-up—barking for her food, barking for attention… a true little princess! We couldn’t be happier for her.”

And she lived happily ever after!
