As humans, we tend to take for granted what our dogs consider new, shocking, or just plain weird. It’s only when we stop to notice their reaction to something that we remember they haven’t seen the whole world, and their views are basically limited to what we’ve surrounded them with.
This is something Gus has just reminded his mom while on a typical daily hike. The Bernese Mountain Dog spotted people doing the strangest thing on *his* pond, and he couldn’t believe his eyes!

Gus’s face is hilarious enough, but it’s all in the “get off my lawn” stance that takes this short clip over the top. Pet parents everywhere can probably relate!
The 20-second video shows the pup’s complete confusion, followed by a silent but apparent opinion that those people ice-skating need to go! This isn’t happening on his watch, not today or ever!
“I will call the police, and they will come,” one fan joked in the comments. “The face of bamboozled right there. He’s thinking, ‘What is this sorcery?'” another added. Another hilariously wrote it: “baffles the drool right out of him,” and if you know Gus, that’s too real!

Gus Is About To Be a Big Brother
Even after the sudden and heartbreaking passing of his big dog brother, Walt, Gus maintains his silly, goofy personality, like the little jokester he is. He fits all the traits of being the youngest—like being flabbergasted at the audacity of those ice skaters—while still holding tight to the best parts of being a Bernese Mountain Dog.
But things are about to change in a big way when Mom welcomes a human sibling soon!
With all the prep for baby-to-be, Mom’s trying to get “Gusset Potato” on board with the baby’s things. He’s not so sure about any of it yet, but in time, he’ll be the best big brother.
Gus’s reaction to the ice skaters is honestly why dogs are so great. Seeing the world through their eyes is a reminder to stay curious and real—thanks, Gus!
