If you ever visit Thailand, you have to watch out for the monkeys. They are very curious little creatures, and their fingers like to wander.
As this video shows, one monkey’s fingers wandered into a tourist’s pocket and stole his money. Not only that, but this monkey displayed a rather “cheeky” personality while committing this hilarious act of larceny, LOL.
There this dude was, walking over a bridge all la-di-dah, not paying enough attention to the monkey that was grabbing his pants pocket while he was filming a video on his smartphone.
The monkey was like, “Hey, what’s that in here?” In a flash, the monkey’s paws were in and out of this man’s pocket with a 20 Thai baht note in their grasp.
The man attempted to reason and even plead with this monkey to give him back his money. But this monkey wasn’t interested in that. Instead, this fuzzy little primate was like, “Sorry, bro, finders keepers!”

The monkey then scurried into a tree and proceeded to eat the man’s money. Well, as unfortunate as this whole incident was, we do have to note that the expression “monkey business” exists for a reason, LOL.
Unsurprisingly, the Internet thought this was hilarious. Some Instagram users joked that the monkey stole this money so that he could go to 7-11 to buy some snacks.
While others joked that because this man didn’t pay “ransom” to get his money back, the monkey ate it. But other people offered up the advice that if this man had given the monkey a snack, then the monkey would have returned his money to him.
Watch Out for Thai Monkeys
There are many different species of monkeys in Thailand, and while they are often very cute, they can also be dangerous, especially macaque monkeys.
It’s generally advised not to feed them because they can snatch food out of people’s hands, sometimes becoming very aggressive. If someone is going to feed a Thai monkey, they are better off throwing the food towards them instead of trying to hand it to them.
Also, while baby monkeys are incredibly adorable, their parents are fiercely protective of them. Going near them could be very dangerous for this reason.
As cute and funny as the above video was, if this tourist had gotten angry and acted aggressively towards the monkey when they did not give him his money back, this monkey could have retaliated by biting him or scratching his face, which can cause serious injury.
