Jack Russell Terriers can be some very ambitious dogs. They are also highly athletic, muscular little dynamos, with boundless energy.
So, it’s no surprise that one of them would attempt something wildly ambitious like going into a lake to retrieve a massive log that is five times their size! Now, as wild as that undertaking sounds, it is also hilarious.
As they say, it’s not the size of the dog in the fight that counts; it’s the size of the fight in the dog that really matters. Well, we guess that is also true when it comes to small dogs trying to drag really big logs out of lakes, LOL.
Well, it’s the thought that counts, as they say. And here, we think that the measure of this Jack Russell Terrier’s ambition is what counts, even though this intrepid little canine didn’t have a snowball’s chance in heck of actually dragging that log out of the lake, LOL!

Eventually, this Jack Russell Terrier realized exactly that and gave up. Hey, there is nothing wrong with quitting while your head, and this dog definitely seemed to realize that. And that’s a good thing, because there is no way that this dog would’ve been able to budge that log an inch on dry land.
Then Again, This Jack Russell Terrier Is Very Strong!
As this other video shows, we may have spoken too soon, LOL. In this footage, this Jack Russell Terrier actually manages to drag a very heavy log down a long path in some pretty deep snow.
As we said previously, the size of the fight in the dog is more important than the size of the dog itself. This Jack Russell Terrier, with their temerity involving retrieving big logs, is certainly a testament to that! And just listen to this dog’s victorious little bark at the end of this clip.
This Jack Russell Terrier clearly knows that they have accomplished something. Not only have they added to their stick collection and impressed the heck out of us, but they have also won our hearts with their impressive ambition and determination.
