Our dogs can be surprisingly perceptive, especially when it comes to certain routines. For example, our Pit Bull knows that when a suitcase comes out, it means we’re leaving. Biggie, the English bulldog in this video, knows it too, and he has the cutest way of protesting Mom’s trip.
When Biggie’s mom lays her suitcase on the floor to pack, he stages a full-on boycott by plopping himself right inside and refusing to budge. Her attempts to lift him out are a complete fail! The video is two minutes long; watch until the end to see who wins battle of the suitcase.
Well, two minutes later and Biggie seems to be winning the suitcase battle! We’re guessing he’s not still in it, and we wonder how she finally got him out!

Funny Reactions to Biggie’s Boycott
Viewers left nearly 1,000 comments about Biggie’s protest, and some of them cracked us up. It was also clear that anybody who has an English bulldog at home could relate to Biggie’s stubbornesss. @Stacy got hundreds of likes when she shared, “The worlds most stubborn breed lol!” @IGM06 agreed, “Bulldogs do what Bulldogs want.”
@amie pointed out, “Guess you goin nowhere LOL!” @jojo added, “You planning on leaving?!!! I don’t think so…”
We laughed when @Thortuga joked, “Has anyone else packed or handled your suitcase?”
@Cc pointed out, “He’s knows when you take that suitcase your having a good time without him LOL!”
CVETS confirms that dogs do equate suitcases with us leaving. “Your dog knows that something is up the second your luggage comes out of the closet. Dogs are able to recognize things by a combination of an object’s appearance and scent – their favorite squeaking toy, your favorite sneakers. Just as your dog has a relationship with his most loved ball, he also has one with your suitcase. However, in this case, the association is not a happy one, and the sight of that luggage will trigger certain negative behavior patterns.”
They also recommend giving your pooch extra snuggles, attention, and treats before and after you return, which, of course, we all already knew!
